Caitlin Rissmiller
Program Officer
Caitlin Rissmiller joined FMC as a Program Officer in 2024. She is a Summa Cum Laude December 2023 graduate from American University where she majored in International Relations with a minor in German. Throughout her studies, she specialized in Comparative Governance, Global Development, and Postcolonial Theory. Caitlin was a Summer and Fall 2023 intern at FMC and is so excited to continue her journey here at FMC.
During her time at American University, she studied abroad at IES Berlin in partnership with Humboldt University, where she spent five months learning about EU governance strategies as well as German Immigration Policy in the German Language. She was also awarded a spot in the Undergraduate Research Fair based on her sophomore thesis which explored the rise of British ethno-nationalism and its affects on Muslim communities in urban England. Caitlin also received distinction for her senior capstone which worked to define the Turkish-German identity in a postcolonial framework.
Caitlin grew up outside of Philadelphia and loves to go back to her PA home on weekends! She is a fierce supporter of Berlin's Hertha BFC and Liverpool FC but will always remain loyal to her Philly sports teams. In her free time, Caitlin frequents DC flea markets, concert venues, and bookstores!
