Abigail Cate
Program Officer

Abigail Cate joined FMC in October 2024 as a Program Officer with a focus on U.S. Democracy. 

She graduated from The George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs in May 2023 and received her undergraduate degree in International Affairs and History.  During the 2024 election cycle, she worked for the Commission on Presidential Debates, the non-partisan, non-profit organization that, prior to 2024, sponsored all general election presidential and vice presidential debates.  She also has experience working in the federal government for the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions, and for the Senate Republican Cloakroom.  During university, Abigail also held various positions at private government relations firms, the Bipartisan Policy Center, and a Fellowship at the George Washington University Office of Undergraduate Admissions.

Abigail is a native of Nashville, Tennessee, but has called D.C. home for the past 6 years.  Outside of work, she is an avid reader, hiker, and baker.  She also enjoys volunteering on the weekends at George Washington’s Mount Vernon Estate.
