Diplomatic Advisory Council

FMC is pleased to announce the creation of our Diplomatic Advisory Council (DAC). This informal body is comprised of current Ambassadors serving in the nation’s capital. The purpose of the DAC is to involve ambassadors and embassy staff in the ongoing international work of our organization.

FMC President Connie Morella—who served as the U.S. Ambassador to the OECD—and FMC Director of International Programs Sabine Schleidt continue to meet regularly with ambassadors representing the United States strategic partners in Europe and other major regional players. They are pleased to report that the meetings have demonstrated a high level of interest and enthusiasm in the mission and work of FMC. Members of the Diplomatic Advisory Council are interested in hearing from former and current Members of Congress on a variety of issues, particularly America’s priorities in economics, trade, and foreign policy. In parallel, we have identified a senior staff member from each member embassy to serve as a liaison and resource for our program development on issues ranging from energy to trade to security matters.
