The U.S. Association of Former Members of Congress has provided a unique and critical forum for current and former Members to engage in timely diplomatic affairs. Its Study Group on Korea has been particularly valuable in enhancing our nations' bilateral relations. In doing so, the Association adds yet another dimension to the U.S.-Korean strategic partnership."

Congressional Study Group on Korea

The U.S. Association of Former Members of Congress (FMC) is pleased to be the secretariat of the Congressional Study Group on Korea (CSGK). As a bipartisan initiative active in the U.S. House of Representatives, the CSGK is currently co-chaired by Rep. Ami Bera (D-CA) and Rep. Mike Kelly (R-PA).

The CSGK serves as a timely forum for discussion on the most pressing issues affecting the U.S.-Korea relationship, and constantly strives to create and maintain channels of communication between Members of Congress and their counterparts in the Korean National Assembly. Topics up for discussion range from security issues to ongoing Trade negotiations.

Programming for the CSGK largely consists of periodic roundtable discussions on Capitol Hill that are catered to Members of Congress and Senior Congressional Staff. These roundtables oftentimes include senior-level Korean diplomats, policy experts, and business representatives.

CSGK programming is made possible by the generous support of The Korea Foundation and The Korea Society, as well as the organizations that make up the CSGK’s own Business Advisory Council (BAC). For more information on the Study Group and to find out more about programming, please contact Congressional Outreach Director Paul Kincaid at PKincaid@usafmc.org.
