Congress to Campus: United Kingdom

UK flag

Since 2002, the Congress to campus program has partnered with the Eccles Center, and the British Library to bring Former Members of Congress to the UK and Europe. Last Spring, Congressmen visited Oxford University, Northampton University, Winchester University, Wellington College, and Oxford Brookes University to discuss issues of domestic and international importance– giving students a change to interact with former legislators with first hand experience. Discussion topics ranged from how the American legislative system formulates an agenda and implements its policy, to common misconceptions, the implications of regime change, and what a new administration in the United States may mean for the UK and Europe.

The program is sponsored by The British Library, The Eccles Centre for American Studies, the United States Embassy in London, and De Montford University.
