Congress to Campus: Canada

CAND1ronald klinkThe United States Association of Former Members of Congress (USAFMC), and Canadian Association of Former Parliamentarians (CAFP) have paired together to bring Congressional speakers to Canada. The program will work to showcase the differences between U.S. and Canadian legislative systems. The heated Health Care reform debate is high on the program’s list of topics—comparing the Canadian system of coverage to that of the United States.

Round-table style discussions will allow students to discuss the issues most important to them with experienced former congressmen and parliamentarians who have spent their lives working in public service.

The program is co-sponsored by the United States Embassy in Ottawa and the Canadian Association of Former Parliamentarians (CAFP), officially ran through the Fall of 2010, but has continued on an ad hoc basis since.
