CSGG: Oct. 9 – “The U.S. Energy Revolution and Germany’s Nuclear Exit”

The Congressional Study Group on Germany hosted a roundtable forum for Members of Congress and the German Bundestag in partnership with the Atlantik-Brücke. The discussion focused on issues surrounding Germany’s interest in self-producing natural gas as a significant form of energy, in light of their withdrawal from nuclear energy production, as well as the future of American natural gas export to Germany. The meeting was attended by several high-level Bundestag members including Abg. Mr. Lars Klingbeil, Abg. Dr. Joachim Pfeiffer, and Abg. Mr. Hans-Joachim Otto. Ambassador Connie Morella (R-MD, 1987-2003) served as the host. The meeting was also attended by His Excellency Peter Taksøe- Jensen, Ambassador of Denmark, and by His Excellency Dr. Peter Ammon, Ambassador of Germany. Members of Congress in attendance included Rep. Jim Costa (D-CA), Congressional Study Group on Europe (CSGE) Co-Chair Rep. Charlie Dent (R-PA), CSGE Co-Chair Rep. Jeff Fortenberry (R-NE), Rep.
