Hosted by the parliamentary leadership of The Congressional Study Group on Germany and the Bundestag’s Parlamentariergruppe USA, the Seminar provides a unique opportunity for German and American legislators and other distinguished guests to discuss the transatlantic relationship and the role of their countries in solving global challenges in a frank and candid forum. Topics for the 32nd Annual Seminar include the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP), the transatlantic economic outlook, domestic energy, the U.S. political process and campaigns, foreign policy priorities beginning with Ukraine, and rebuilding trust after the NSA surveillance affair. Meeting partners include Chancellor Angela Merkel, Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Bundestag President Norbert Lammert, and other high-level representatives from government, industry, and media.

In addition to current and former lawmakers from the United States and Germany, the Seminar also welcomes representatives from the U.S. and German Administrations, and the business and non-profit communities.

The Annual Congress-Bundestag Seminar is made possible each year with the financial support of U.S. and German foundations committed to strengthening the transatlantic relationship, as well as a rotating partner from the five German political foundations.

The Study Group would like to thank the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung and the ZEIT-Stiftung Gerd und Ebelin Bucerius for underwriting the 32nd Annual Congress-Bundestag Seminar.
