7/10 NARA Panel: America Works: The Past, Present, and Future of Job Creation and Unemployment in America

Panel Presentation: America Works: The Past, Present, and Future of Job Creation and Unemployment in America

McGowan Theater at the National Archives

(Please enter through the Special Events entrance at 7th Street and Constitution Avenue)

Confirmed panelists: The Hon. Bob Clement (D-TN); Sen. Larry Pressler (R-SD); The Hon. Mark Kennedy (R-MN)

This panel will use American history as a medium to explore the future of our evolving jobs market and how past transitional periods have affected America’s position in a global economy. By comparing and contrasting current challenges to past events (e.g., the Great Depression, the advent of “Reganomics,” or past recessions), the panelists will evaluate the scope, severity, and solutions up for debate that have historically succeed or failed.
